a bird! a plane! a...dragon?

Minako is seriously cursing her luck right about now. She'd thought just one mission with the police in Transylvania would be all right. They'd caught a suspect, saved the children, and even battled some vampires. She was still a full-blooded human, thankfully, but that last ambush had left her a little worse for the wear. Even as Sailor Venus, her magic couldn't fend off the pain forever.

So in her weakened state, jt's far too easy for that pack of possessed wolves to jump her. She yelps, swinging her good leg and the heaviest branch in the forest with all her might, but those fangs snap angrily. She doesn't have much time to run, but she must, gritting her teeth through the pain. The branches tear at her and slow her down, but she's managed to stop all but three, escaping from the forest into the open meadow.

Now, though...there are three closing in on her. She faces them down, chain whip in hand, but it doesn't comfort her much. Even worse, there's an ominous thump behind her in the grass.

What could that giant shadow be?

She doesn't have the energy to argue by then. She merely responds by yelping into his chest, clinging on for dear life. If he wasn't going to kill her the traditional way, would fear do it?

Oh, she was being ridiculous. Ordinarily she was far braver, but the last few days had seriously messed with her head.

All she could do was hope for this dizzy feeling to end soon.

Holding her close as he flies, he does his best to keep her warm and secure... Skyfire really hated to make her so afraid, but what other options did he have? At least the flight would only be a fairly short one, lasting a half hour at best.

He lands at the entrance to his home, and while the entrance was high up on a cliff, you'd not be able to tell when standing on said cliff. It looked more like an orchard than a cliff... plus a small garden and berry patch. Granted, he wouldn't linger there and instead carried her inside, where it was rather dimly lit, but was still bright enough to see the walls of the tunnel were sculpted and planned rather than just dug roughly.

He thought it was a good thing that he'd had humans visit and live with him before...

He calls a half hour short? Oh, she would definitely have a thing or two to say about that if she knew. What terrifies her the most is how helpless she is. Being hurt this badly and then left completely at the mercy of a dragon was not on her agenda for today. At least he seems to be a somewhat merciful dragon so far?

She only has a moment to view the lovely surroundings before she's taken inside. There, she starts squirming again. "Home sweet home?" she manages to ask.

It was a short trip in his mind, since it would have taken over a month to walk there... not including the climb up...

The trek through the tunnels didn't take very long, and even though it's still rather dimly lit she might be able to make out some of the room details. It was essentially what could be considered a combined living room and kitchen area, but... well... made for a dragon.

Skyfire sighed softly when she started to squirm again, feeling like a real jerk... but what else could he have done? Leaving her there alone probably would have seen her dead before she'd even made it out of the woods. Surely staying a day or three with him to recover wasn't so horrible... If only he could speak at the moment...

Also in the room, there is an area that was raised up with furnishings for a human, including a kitchen area and a soft, couch like seating area, which is what he gently sets her down onto.

Huh. It's almost like he was expecting humans to come along. Minako wasn't quite sure what to make of that, but the relief at being set down finally helped her catch her breath.

She could now take a moment to assess her injuries. The worst gashes were on her leg---already covered, but maybe she could re-wrap them. Lighter scratches dotted her arms, though her left one bore an especially deep gash.

And then there were the bumps and bruises leaving her light-headed, but she could deal with that. "I bet you're a hit at parties," she said weakly, rubbing her injured arm.

He just huffs softly at her comment and tries not to roll his eyes as he sets about lighting a small fire in the human sized 'kitchen' area. It's rather an old fashioned set up, relying on a fireplace like set up to cook... but it was clearly functional and well cared for.

Once that's done, he fills a pot with water and sets it on the fire... though she might be surprised to find he has running water.

Clearly, he's had practice handling objects meant for humans as he took an earthenware mug off a shelf and filled it with cool water before offering it to her.

The offer surprises her, but she gladly wraps her hands around it. Her throat's become just a little raw from all the screaming and yelling, and this does help.

"Thank you," she finally manages to say, careful not to swallow too much at once. "Thanks. You're...really determined to help a brat like me, aren't you?"

She's mostly sure by now.

He gives her a little smile and a nod, glad she finally seemed to be getting the idea that he was trying to help her.

Once he was reasonably sure she wasn't going to panic again, unless she did something to stop him, he'd turn to go leave the large room to go fetch supplies to help her clean and tend her wounds... plus a few other things. He'd return in about fifteen minuets.

When she's alone, she relaxes into the soft surface beneath her. It's a lovely little room, and at last she seems to realize that she'll live another day. She'll just...accept the hospitality of a surprisingly altruistic dragon.

When he returns, he'll find that she's released her power: she's wearing a loose blue school uniform instead of the torn orange outfit. It'll be easier to wrap everything this way. And she's idly dozing there, recovering her strength as best she can.

She pushes herself up despite the pain and spares a smile for him, though. "Hey...for me? Thanks. I'm not worried anymore. I've got this."

Skyfire will just frown at her and starts setting down items to tend to those wounds... Minako wasn't going to get to avoid getting those wounds cleaned and bandaged properly.

But before he did that, he picked up the large clay pot he'd brought too, and chugged the contents while grimacing at the flavor. It really was a horrid mix to take, but it would hopefully clear up his throat faster so that he could actually speak to her.

He pulls the large pot of water off of the fire and starts putting herbs and cloth into the water, because those wounds needed to be cleaned out... and water alone wouldn't do it if one of the wolves had actually bitten her.

Minako just frowns right back at him. He's drinking something...

"Am I such a pain that you need to get drunk before dealing with me?" she teases lightly, but soon after she looks over the items and bites her lip. This is...probably gonna suck.

At her comment, he very maturely sticks his tongue out at her.

That look of hesitation on her face has him reaching out to carefully place one of those big fingers of his on her shoulder in a gesture of comfort for a moment. It might suck, having to clean out and care for the wounds... but surely that was better than loosing a limb from infection later.

As long as she didn't protest his help, he'd start to unwrap her leg and begin to clean the wounds with the herbed water... Which wouldn't likely be as bad as she was fearing, since the herbs would help take away a lot of the sting and even some of the pain.

Oh, so he does have a sense of humor. Minako smiles shyly at him, gently pats his claw, and then sucks in a breath. This is totally freaky, trusting her tiny limbs to him. But what can she do but trust him?

Fortunately, it seems to work. She manages to bite down most of the whimpers.

"Okay. Okay. I'm not gonna die, so you'll be stuck with me for a bit. Sorry."

He gives her a little frown at her apologizing for not dieing, because that kind of bothered him. If it was a joke, he didn't find it funny. Human lives were quite short enough.

Cleaning her wounds out and re-bandaging them with cream to prevent infection seems to go well enough, but he pauses when it comes to do more than her arms and legs. Humans were odd about having to take their clothes off, but if she was injured there...

He pauses then points to the water, cloths and cream, then to the covered part of her body in an attempt to tell her to clean and care for anything he couldn't see. If she got the idea, he'd vacate the room for a little while to give her some privacy.

"You're a good one," Minako reassures him, pushing herself up as he turns to go. "Otherwise I'd have to teach you a lesson! On...some better day," she wheezes, quickly sobering up and attending to herself once he turns away.

When everything's taken care of, she re-dresses, flops loosely onto one of the sofas, and calls out. "It's okay to come back now if you want. Or if you don't. No big deal either way!"

He'd be gone for a little while and Minako might notice the light in the cave getting a bit brighter. Now that she'd been tended to a bit, Skyfire could take a moment to adjust the light and collect some more things for her.

When he returned, he'd be bringing a nice soft blanket and a couple of fluffy pillows which he offered to her.

"You really do get visitors, huh?" Minako says softly, accepting the offered items and wrapping them around herself. "Or does anyone live with you?"

Any cute single guys, maybe? Hey, she could always hope. But she has to wonder what a friendly dragon's doing way out here by his lonesome.

Skyfire looked quite sad at the mention of visitors, paused and held up a finger in a 'one moment' gesture. He downs another container of something he obviously despises the taste of, then spends a few moments digging around for something in a dragon sized 'drawer' on what looks like a storage area.

Coming back over, he attaches a funny looking thing to one of his claws that looks like it's holding a stick of chalk and starts writing on a 'small' board of slate.

[Yes. Though it has been a long time.] He hoped writing things out would work to fix their communication problem till he got his voice back.

She scooted over to read the message, wincing as she pushed a little too far. The treatments really helped, but she would still need to move carefully for a little while. Wow---his writing was somehow neater than hers. Clearly she was really bad.

She smiled a little at that thought. "Okay. So we do understand each other. But then...I wonder. Why did you save me?"

Seemed like an awful lot of trouble to her.

He notices that wince and shifts himself and that board around so that she doesn't need to move as much to read it.

[You needed help.] That was really all there was to it. She needed help and he just couldn't walk away... plus, he thought maybe he had a chance to make a new friend if he helped...

That helped. She gratefully dropped back into a comfortable position, closing her eyes to clear her head for a moment.

"Hero instinct, huh?" she asked, carefully arranging herself to ease the pain. "I get it. Thanks...mister Dragon? Is there another name I should know?"

[Common decency.] He thought it was only right that if one could help, they should.

Giving her a small smile, he scribbles on the board again. [My name is Skyfire. May I know yours?]

"Skyfire. Okay. Hi," she greeted back, stopping to take a deep breath. She'd be fine. "I'm Minako. Pleased to meet you."

She bows slightly, about all she can manage like this.

He waggles one of those big fingers at her when she tries to bow, clearly worried about her hurting herself.

[Nice to meet you, but no more trying to move like that. You need to rest.]

"Okay, okay. I will. But..."

She bit her lip.

"My friends are expecting me to report back to them in two days. And that's already too long to be a burden to you."
