This is a basic post about Minako Aino, the silly schoolgirl who's also Sailor Venus.
For those unfamiliar with Sailor Moon, here's the lowdown: a long long time ago, there was a kingdom on the Moon and a kingdom on Earth. The princess of the Moon, Serenity, and the prince of Earth, Endymion fell in love, and they had a secret romance, but tensions flew everywhere. particularly Both the princess's advisors, the Sailor Guardians, and the prince's advisors, the four Generals, reluctantly tolerated the relationship, fearing a war. The Lunarians and Earthlings had an uneasy relationship, but things were okay for a while.
Then, an evil queen from Earth fell in love with Earth's prince as well. She was jealous of Princess Serenity. In retaliation, she brainwashed the Prince's generals and organized a coup against the Moon. The Moon Kingdom was utterly destroyed. The prince, princess, and the princess's guardians all died in the war. A distraught Queen did the only thing she could do: she used the last of her magic to give the fallen young warriors a new life in the future, in the hopes that they could live happily some day.
Flash-foward to Tokyo, Japan of the early 1990s. The Sailor Guardians, the princess, and the prince have been reincarnated as ordinary teenagers. But this time, the princess has sworn to fight to protect her friends, so she now has Sailor Guardian powers as well. That's Usagi Tsukino, the reincarnation of Princess Serenity now fighting evil as Sailor Moon.
So that brings us to Minako. Minako is the reincarnation of Sailor Venus, the leader of the Princess's guardians from the past life. She initially masqueraded as the princess to protect Usagi from evil, but the truth eventually resurfaced when the gang regained their past memories. She's now a ditzy, love-obseesed, silly teenager in the daytime, but by night she's a warrior of love and beauty.
Minako embodies the spirit of Venus, the goddess of love. She openly embraces all---not quite to the same saintlike extent as Usagi, but she is willing to offer her love to all. She loves flirting with and daydreaming about boys, but she's definitely had her eye on a few ladies.Rei-chan. Expect her to be very openly affectionate.
There's a darker side to her, though: in her earliest days of crime-fighting as Sailor V, Minako was forced to kill the one person who'd loved her in her past life, as he'd fallen behind enemy lines. In telling her love fortune, he revealed that Minako will never be able to have a permanent romantic relationship with someone, because she will always choose her duty to Usagi over romantic love.
That incident hardened modern-day Minako into the soldier of Venus. When evil is afoot, she's extremely serious. She's less trusting of strangers than Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter, and will often side with Usagi when the other girls won't. When anything threatens her princess, she will kill to protect her. She'll even go after the prince if she sees a threat to her princess.
Minako begins canon at age 14 and is 16 by the end, but I can further age her to 18 if you'd prefer for a particular meme.
She's about 5'2" tall, with sweeping blonde hair held back by a plump red ribbon, and her eyes are a bright blue. She's also quite athletic, given that she was the captain of her school's volleyball team for a while.
She's a great fighter as Sailor Venus and I'm willing to throw her into action threads, but I am a huge sucker for fluff and shipping. So here be my preferences for that:
-I'll tag with canons and OCs from any medium
-I play Minako as willing to fall in love with just about anyone. No gender restrictions on shipping.
-The only thing is I'm not comfortable with huge age differences, say, any more than five years.
-I'll ship and go into suggestive territory, but I prefer to smut in personal journals.
-Not interested in heavy gore content generally, but if for some reason I post to a meme that lends itself to that it's cool.
